Poster: Photography & Fine Text
You know those posters you see for club nights and gigs, stuck on the walls of building sites and long-closed shops? I made one.
Actually, I made a few of them. Lots of my early clients were activists and bands in Hackney, London, setting up revolutionary publishing companies and trying to change the world. I’m not sure any of them managed, but they made some good books and records.
This is a really simple poster for a band night in Great Portland Street, London. The background is a photo of a bench that I took under Waterloo Bridge, with a dark gradient overlay. I like it because of the contrast between the dirty bench and the slim, elegant text, which was easy to read at a distance.
